Comment on Save money, time and your sanity. part 1 by Trish Pogue http://www.yourhomeroom.com/articles/save-money-time-and-your-sanity-part-1/comment-page-1/#comment-2783 Trish Pogue Wed, 10 Aug 2011 15:21:13 +0000 http://www.yourhomeroom.com/?p=637#comment-2783 Thanks for those tips, Nicki. My mom is only eating meat one time a day, I bet that helps with cost and health. I love to shop at Aldi. I can usually get a gallon of milk for $2.50-$2.80. Depends on how much they have in stock and the demand for it that week. Thanks for those tips, Nicki. My mom is only eating meat one time a day, I bet that helps with cost and health.

I am trying to make one meatless meal a week since often meat is the most expensive part of a dinner meal. Also buying meat in bulk and saving some in the freezer helps a lot. I have also been more careful lately about checking what I already have in the freezer and pantry before making my list. One more thing - where are you getting milk for less than $3?! I need to go there! I have a couple other things that have helped me save. I am trying to make one meatless meal a week since often meat is the most expensive part of a dinner meal. I love how you can see AB think about how many fingers to hold up. My mom was singing to Jason I'm a Little Teacup. This morning I was kind of singing it to myself and when I paused, I heard Jason singing along! And he was trying to do the motions. Music is such a great way to learn! Comment on Funding Schools with Snickers? by Courtney Cantrell http://www.yourhomeroom.com/articles/funding-schools-with-snickers/comment-page-1/#comment-2681 Courtney Cantrell Tue, 08 Feb 2011 19:05:14 +0000 http://www.yourhomeroom.com/?p=587#comment-2681 Oh man, that's a tough question, and I honestly don't know how to answer it. Maybe if I had children in school, I'd have stronger feelings and a definite opinion... The only thing I'm certain of is that soft drink, juice, junk food, and candy ads *will* increase childhood obesity rates. I don't see any way of avoiding it -- unless parents step in and enforce strict rules with their children about what the kids are eating/buying at school. But from what I've heard parents tell me, enforcing such rules is already next to impossible, even without ads in schools! On the other hand...funding for academics, arts, and hires is hard to turn down. If I had a musically inclined kid in school, and there were a chance her band program could really get off the ground thanks to advertising by Snickers, I'm not sure I could say no. ???
